1. Who We Are

LAXGRADES is a student-developed, student-run platform created to help University of Wisconsin–La Crosse (UWL) students explore historical grade distribution data. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by UWL.

2. Information We Collect

When you create an account, we collect:

• Your @uwlax.edu email address (used for verification and authentication)
• Your name (as provided during registration)
• A securely hashed version of your password (we never store plain-text passwords)

When you submit a review, we collect the content of that review associated with your account. We also collect standard server logs for security and analytics.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To create and manage your account
• To verify your UWL affiliation via email
• To display reviews you have submitted
• To improve the platform based on usage patterns

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

4. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored securely in a cloud-hosted database. Passwords are hashed using bcrypt. We take reasonable precautions to protect your information, but no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

5. Third-Party Services

• Resend — for sending verification emails
• Vercel — for hosting
• Neon — for cloud database storage
• Google Analytics — for anonymous usage analytics

6. Your Rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data at any time by using the Leave Feedback form.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Continued use of LAXGRADES after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
